Appointments

All surgeries are by appointment. Appointments are normally 15 minutes, but if you think you need longer than this, please advise.

If you require an urgent (same day) appointment, then you may not be able to see your usual Doctor or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

We offer a wide selection of appointment types.  All Doctor or ANP appointments are booked by themselves.

Some days – namely Mondays and days after holiday periods can be extremely busy and are less suitable for chronic reviews. Appointments booked urgently on the day may not be at exactly the time you feel you want, but please remember that we are dealing with a large number of patients and appointments are booked on a first come basis.

We aim to direct your need to the most appropriate health care professional in a timely manner; our staff will ask the nature of your problem to ensure we book with the most appropriate health care professional or alternative service provider.

If you wish to speak to a doctor or nurse, please ring requesting a telephone call-back. You will attempt to provide an indication of when this call-back will take place although this is difficult as the clinical member of staff will continually assess and triage their calls.

You are also able to book an online consultation for non urgent, admin or medication related queries via the practice website home page or via this link

We now have a wide range of appointments that can be booked online via Patient Access, myGP or alternative options. Please speak to a member of staff for further details or follow the registration link on the home page.

Extended Hours pre-bookable appointments are available at Outpatients Department, Penrith Hospital, please speak to a member of staff for more information or how to book.

Please click on the three lines on the left hand side of ‘Appleby Medical Practice’ for further practice related information.
